Salvador Dali

Salvador Dali was Born on May 11th 1904 and he died January 23 1989 due to heart failure. He grew up in Figueres, Spain. His Fathor's name is Salvador Dali and he was a middle class lawyer and a notary. His mother's name is Felipa Domenech Ferres and she was unemoployed. He had one brother that was nine months older than him and one sister. The schooling he went through was Colegio de hermanos maristas and academia de San Fernado. He had one friend that I know about and that is Pablo Picasso. and he married a Russian Immagrant named Gala.
Some Challeneges he had faced throughout his career is that his mother died of cancer when he was 16 years old. He got kicked out of the academy and then came back and then got expelled from there. Also in 1980 he was forced to retire due to motor  disorder that caused permanent trembling and weakness in his hands.
The mediums that Dali uses is Drawing, oil painting, engraving, lithograpght, scalpture and collages. and he followed the Impressionism, futurism, cubism, and surrealism.

The Persistence of Memory (1931)

Millet's Architectonic Angelus (1933)

 The Invisible Man (1929)


And One thing most people might not know about Salvador Dali is that when he was Five years old, his parents took him to his older brothers grave and told him he was his brother's reincarnation.

  1. What a 'stache! I bet he was a really interesting person to know. I got to see several pieces by him at the art museum in Chicago this summer. What a strange thing for his parents to tell him...I bet that messed with his head for years to come.
